Abstract/Contents: | Describes how backyard composting is being recommended as an option to reduce the amount of waste exported from New York City. Discusses the study done in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island. Describes the research showing that everyone who tried composting thought that it was fun and said that they would continue to compost. Also includes a result from a focus group that revealed that the program made people think about waste and its effect on the public. |
