| Abstract/Contents: | Sand and soil were applied as top dressings (yearly, 6-monthly, monthly and 2-weekly) to a creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris [stolonifera] cv. Penncross) turf over 2 years. More thatch was produced with the monthly and 2-weekly top dressing frequencies but over a greater depth and therefore at a lower density. Turf top dressed more frequently also had a firmer surface. |
