| Abstract/Contents: | "The entries in the 1991 National Turfgrass Evaluation Program (NTEP) buffalograss trial were planted and evaluated under shaded conditions at TAES-Dallas to provide detailed information regarding the relative shade tolerance of experimental and commercially available varieties of turfgrass." Data analyzed includes establishment and persistence, spring greenup and green color retention, overall quality, and accumulative performance under shade. "Although our data seem to confirm that buffalograsses are generally shade-intolerant, considerable variation in the extent of that intolerance exists within the species." |
