| Abstract/Contents: | "Halofenozide or ethofumesate were applied to 20-cm diameter lysimeters placed in either creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris Huds.), tall fecsue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.), or bare soil. Ethofumesate was applied at 840 g ai ha⁻¹. Halofenozide was applied at 1680 g ai ha⁻¹. Lysimeters were removed two hours after treatment and 4, 8, 16, 32, and 64 days after treatment (DAT). The lysimeters were sectioned by depths and soil extracts were assayed by HPLC yielding a pesticide detection limit of 0.01 mg kg⁻¹. Ethofumesate leaching in turfgrass was reduced by at least 95% compared to bare soil. The half-life of ethofumesate was 48 days in bare soil and 3 days in turfgrass. Leaching of halofenozide in turfgrass and bare soil was similar at 32 and 64 DAT. The half-life of halofenozide was>64 days, regardless of organic matter cover." |
