| Abstract/Contents: | "Grubs of the Pasadena masked chafer, Cyclocephala pasadenae, were effectively controlled on a bentgrass putting green with two biweekly applications of Orthene TTO (1.9 oz/1000 sq ft), Pinpoint (0.75 oz/1000 sq ft) and Dylox 80 (3.75 oz/1000 sq ft). Merit (0.2 oz/sq ft) demonstrated comparable activity when applied only once. Dursban Pro, considered by some to be the industry standard for grub management, did not provide acceptable control of chafer grubs, with damage ratings that were not significantly different from the untreated check. Addition of either M-Pede (1%) or Tame (0.37 oz/1000 sq ft) to Orthene (1.9 oz/1000 sq ft) appeared to antagonize the activity of Orthene, with unacceptable chafer damage the result. Tame applied by itself (0.37 oz/1000 sq ft) also demonstrated unacceptable performance that was not significantly different than the untreated check." |
