Abstract/Contents:"Epichloë festucae is an endophytic fungus that forms symbiotic relationships with fine fescues, a group of fine-textured grass species in the genus Festuca." Describes how a "study was conducted to evaluate a new technique for revealing molecular markers, called Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphisms (AFLP), in E. festucae and related grass endophytes." "AFLP fingerprinting appears to be a powerful technique for revealing polymorphic molecular markers in closely related organisms and for identifying groups of individuals that are biologically similar."
