Abstract/Contents: | "Seed shedding in cultivated grass species results in extensive seed losses. A new approach has been devised in order to quantify physioloically determined seed shedding . The method described utilises a mobile device, which exposes influorescences to a predetermined physical stress. Preliminary results on perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) indicate that the seeds shed increase in size as the influorescence matures." |
