Abstract/Contents:"There has been an increased utilization of seed propagated bermudagrasses [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.]. A study was conducted to assess the effects of mowing height and N rate on the nutrient content of 14 seeded bermudagrasses and on vegetative cultivar, 'Tifway' (C. dactylon x C. transvaalensis). The seeded cultivars were: 'Cheyenne', 'Common', 'Jackpot', 'J-540', 'Mirage', 'Princess' Brand, 'Primavera', 'Pyramid', 'Sahara', 'Sonesta', 'Sultan', 'Sundevil', 'SunStar', and 'Yuma'. Cultivars were maintained under treatment combinations of three mowing heights (1.27, 1.90, 2.54 cm) and N rates (114, 227, 454 g N/93 m²/month). Plant samples were collected and analyzed for nutrient content of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, and S. For all cultivars under all treatments, concentrations of P and S were within and concentrations of Ca and Mg were below the sufficiency range of each nutrient. There were treatment differences for N, K, Ca, Mg, and S."
