| Abstract/Contents: | "Turfgrass foundations play an important role in support of research and education. These foundations promote the industry, encourage and support research and education, disseminate information related to research and education, and represent the industry in matters of policy. Turfgrass foundations provide a means of partnership among public and private sectors of the industry. It takes careful communications among all facets of the industry to establish a foundation. All aspects of the industry should be represented. The goals and objectives of the foundation must be clearly stated. Concise objectives allow all participants to see their role in, and potential contribution to the foundation's success. These are excellent examples of successful foundations. These foundations may appear quite different. Their success is due to effective communications, respect for all aspects of the industry, clearly stated goals, and an appreciation for maintaining linkages and partnerships." |
