| Abstract/Contents: | "Bermudagrass Eradication with Herbicides J.W.BOYD, Univ. of Arkansas Three applications (May, July, and September) of glyphosate at 2.2 kg ha⁻¹ or two applications (May and July) of glyphosate at 2.2 kg ha⁻¹+ fluazifop at 0.42 kg ha⁻¹ controlled 'Tifway' and 'Midlawn' hybrid bermudagrasses when evaluated in May 1999. 'Tifway' was more difficult to control than 'Midlawn'. Two applications of glyphosate at 2.2 kg ha⁻¹ controlled 90% of the 'Midlawn' (one location) versus 60% of the 'Tifway' (two locations). Two applications of glyphosate 2.2 kg ha⁻¹ + clethodim 0.28 kg ha⁻¹ did not improve control compared to the same rate of glyphosate alone. Tank mixing glufosinate at 1.12 kg ha⁻¹ with glyphosate at 2.2 kg ha⁻¹ reduced control of both varieties from 15 ('Midlawn') to 75% ('Tifway') compared to glyphosate alone." |
