Abstract/Contents: | "Turfgrass color is the result of complex set of interactions between soil, plant, water, light and human perception. The traditional color-rating scheme is usually not reproducible. Inherent turfgrass color is species and region specific. The color space reference method was used to measure growing turfgrass color and clippings, where L indicates lightness and a and b are the chromaticity coordinates. Models were developed between the Near Infrared Reflectance Spectral signature of dry and ground samples and field reference values. In this paper, the relationship between color space reference measurement and spectral characteristics will be discussed. The practical aspet of relationship between turf color and nutrients will be discussed." |
