| Abstract/Contents: | "Insecticide applications are widely use [used] to manage the complex of caterpillars on turfgrass. Several formulations and rates of deltamethrin and acephate were evaluated for control of fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith) on a creeping bentgrass, Agrostis palustris Huds., green. Larvae were flushed from the turft with a mixture of Kicker^D]T^D]M (pyrethrum + piperonyl butoxide) + 0.8 ml of Silwet^D]T^D]M (an organosilicon wetting agent) in water to determine the level of control provided by each insecticide. Each treatment of deltamethrin and acephate provided significant control compared to the untreated check. Significantly better control was provided with the acephate 75% SC formulation than with the 15%G treatment. No phytotoxicity was observed due to any of the treatments." |
