Abstract/Contents:Among three varieties of Phleum pratense grown in pots at three rates of nitrogen supply, Motterwitzer and Neuga outyielded Timo following cutting. The last variety was approximately one week later in flowering than the other two. The application of high rates of N after cutting damaged Timo less than the earlier varieties. Regrowth after cutting was most rapid in Timo. Among the three varieties, rate of regrowth was negatively correlated with resistance to lodging.
