Abstract/Contents: | The major cultivated grass in the leys was timothy (Phleum pratense). Sclerotinia borealis was found in 71% of the leys, most commonly in 1st yr timothy. Sclerotia on the ground surface remained viable at least 2 yr. Typhula ishikariensis (av. 55%) caused damage mainly in older timothy leys. T. incarnata was relatively unimportant. Fusarium spp. (44%) were more significant on Festuca pratensis than on timothy. |
