| Abstract/Contents: | The National Bentgrass test contains 23 entries. These consist mainly of creeping bentgrasses, but also include two colonials, one dryland, and one browntop bent. Penncross and Pennlinks are the standards. Two of the experimental entries belong to MSU. The seed used for these two entries were harvested from two of our more heat tolerant selections. A great deal of crossing and progeny evaluation has occurred since that stage. Included is a list of the entries and sponsors and also an evaluation of the head tolerance in June, 1991. The heat tolerance is given in a T grouping rating 25 entries and experimental grasses. |
