Abstract/Contents: | Lists common turf problem misdiagnoses, including hairy chinch bug damage, unknown turf disease, drought, pythium blight, and brown patch. Provides information on correct identification of the actual problems, which are "melting out" stage of leaf spot, bluegrass billbug damage, hairy chinch bug damage, traffic from lawnmowers or fertilizer spreaders on turf during periods of high temperatures and low soil moisture causing yellow striping of turf, and patches of rough bluegrass which die when drought stressed, respectively. |
