| Abstract/Contents: | Addresses a question about the advantages and disadvantages of diverting yard trimmings from a landfill, particularly in the area of landfill methane gas production. Provides a chart to help estimate the lost methane potential by diverting various waste sources. Reviews a study which suggested that "elimination of yard trimmings could slow down the onset of methane production." Emphasizes that many factors can affect methane production in addition to yard clippings. |
