Abstract/Contents: | Advises homeowners to "pamper" their lawns during the fall to promote healthy lawns in the spring. Suggests creating air pockets for air, water, and nutrients by renting a core aerator. Also suggests applying a nitrogen fertilizer to promote root growth, and renting a power rake to remove thatch. Also suggests mowing less often with a lower blade height, reseeding bare spots, and controlling weeds and diseases with an isolated spray. Also includes a formula for measuring the correct amount of fertilizer for a lawn. |
