Abstract/Contents:"A perennial ryegrass turf evaluation trial was seeded 26 Aug at a rate of 4 lb/1000 ft² near Hubbard, OR. The trial consisted of commercially available and advanced experimental cultivars seeded into 3 ft x 5 ft plots. Each cultivar was replicated three times in a randomized complete block design. The trial received 5 lb N/1000 ft²/yr, 1 in. irrigation/wk in absence of rainfall, and no fungicides. The trial was mowed three times/wk at 1.5 in. mowing height. Visible leaf spot symptoms and crown rust symptoms occurred throughout the trial. Leaf spot severity was evaluated on 5 Mar and crown rust was evaluated on 20 Sep. Symptoms were evaluated using a visual rating scale from 1-9, where 9=no symptoms and 1=severe disease. Significant differences in disease reaction were observed among cultivars."
