Abstract/Contents:Presents a study to "evaluate the effects of incorporating two soil amendments on the grow-in quality and rooting of three bentgrass cultivars" and to "determine if different soil fertility/amendment treatments have an impact on bentgrass cover, root development, turf quality, soil microbial activity, and disease severity." Results indicate that "the cultivars 'Penn G-2' and 'Providence' had greater coverage than 'Crenshaw' on all rating dates until Dec 1999, at which time all cultivars had achieved similar cover." Also states that "pink snow mold was more severe in the two Ringer treatments" and that the "greatest root biomass was observed in plots incorporated with Menefee Humate."
