| Abstract/Contents: | Field tests were used to evaluate commercial and experimental fungicides for controlling Rhizoctonia blight of Raleigh St. Augustinegrass. Fungicides were evaluated for their effectiveness under conditions of heavy disease pressure. Results of field investigations with 42 fungicide treatments 28 days after application demonstrated that Spotless (1.0 oz), ICIA523 (2.8 oz), SDS66608 (3.7 oz), RH3866 (1.9 oz), Fungo (2.0 oz), Duosan (5.0 oz), PCNB 50DF (24.0 oz), G696 (24.0 oz), and Rhiozolex (4.0 oz) when applied on days 1 and 15 gave protection during the 28-day period. Fungicide treatments applied once on day 1 were generally not as effeective for disease suppression as fungicides applied two times. One combination fungicide treatment, SN84364 (4.0 oz) plus SN99731 (1.0 oz), and singly applied SN84364 (4.0 oz) gave good disease protection with a single spray application. |
