| Abstract/Contents: | Field tests evaluated commercial and experimental fungicides for controlling Rhizoctonia blight on 'Raleigh' St. Augustinegrass. Light disease pressure existed during the evaluation because of the presence of unusually cool weather conditions. Results of investigation with 36 fungicide treatments 28 days after their application demonstrated that 91 percent of the treatments performed better than the untreated control. Field plots receiving Mon24000 (8 oz), Chipco 26019 (2 oz), Terraguard 50W (8.12 oz), Flutola nil (4 oz), Daconil (6 oz), and the combination of Vorlan/Fungo (1 + 1 oz), applied on days 1 and 15 gave complete protection during the 28-day period. Funcigide treatments applied only one time were generally not as effective for disease suppression as fungicides applied two times during the period. The fungicide treatments PCNB 75W (12 oz), Duosan (4,6 oz) and Mon24000 (8 oz) gave complete disease protection following only one spray application. |
