Abstract/Contents:"Commercial, pre-commercial and endemic pathogenic control agents will be tested in the laboratory and the field to determine their potential for use in managing members of the scarab grub complex in turfgrass. The effects of grub species, environment and cultural practices on pathogen virulence and disease spread will be addressed. Commercial and pre-commercial pathogenic biological control agents (Milky diseases, Bt [formulated for beetle control] nematodes [continuation of previous IPM studies] and fungi) will be screened in the laboratory for efficacy against members of the scarab grub complex. Studies will be conducted under a variety of simulated environmental conditions to determine the potential of these materials under 'optimal' field conditions and also to pinpoint possible environmental or biological considerations which would limit their use in certain areas of the country or against certain scarab grub species."
