| Abstract/Contents: | Preliminary trials indicated that repeat treatments of 2,4-D + dichlorprop or 2,4-D plus MCPP plus dicamba were effective in reducing an infestation of mugwort (Artemesia vulgaris L.) in turfgrass. In September 1983, an area in St. Charles Cemetery, Pinelawn, New York, heavily infested with mugwort, was laid out in 10 X 10 foot plots with each treatment replicated 3 times. The mugwort population in each plot was rated as a % of area covered on September 14, 1983. The first treatments were made on September 23, 1983. Plots receiving a second treatment were sprayed May 18, 1984, a third treatment was made on July 20, 1984 and a fourth treatment October 4, 1984. Herbicides used are shown in Table 1. |
