| Abstract/Contents: | Herbicides including MCPA, 2,4-D, bromoxynil, 2,4-D + MCPP, and 2,4-D + MCPP + dicamba did not deleteriously affect the density of a fall, 1981 seeded blend of Kentucky bluegrasses (Poa pratensis L.) when applied at normal use rates in April, 1982. The propylenediamine salt of 2,4-D with either MCPP; dicamba, dichlorprop or triclopyr was extremely effective in controlling white clover and dandelion (Taraxacum officinale Weber). Bromoxynil (0.5 lb ai/A), however, did not effectively control dandelion. Oxalis (Oxalis stricta L.) was effectively controlled by various formulations of 2,4-D + MCPP + dicamba, 2,4-D + MCPP, and 2,4-DP, but not bromoxynil. Annual Lespedeza striata (Thunberg) H. & A.) was most effectively controlled with a low volatile ester formulation of 2,4-D + MCPP + dicamba. Common blue violet (Viola papilionacea Pursh.) was not controlled with 2,4-DP, 2,4-DP + mefluidide or 2,4-D + MCPP + dicamba + either triclopyr or mefluidide. |
