| Abstract/Contents: | 360 varieties and experimental selections of Kentucky bluegrass seeded in September of 1974 at Adelpia, New Jersey are evaluated for overall turf quality, appearance, density, and disease resistance for the fourth year. The top 22 varieties (rated on 1-9 scale) are presented for overall performance as are the top 22 for dollar spot resistance and the top 22 for stem rust resistance on a sandy soil profile. The varieties Princeton 104, Eclipse, American, Plush, Majestic, Adelphi, Bonnieblue, and Admiral showed relatively good performance and above average resistance to both stem rust and dollar spot. Dollar spot was considerably more damaging at the lower fertility levels. |
