Abstract/Contents:Article discusses turfgrass seed identification techniques that have been developed to help differentiate species, sub species, and cultivars. Isoelectronic focusing and staining of seed esterase bands have allowed for varietal distinctions to identify several fine fescue cultivars (Jamestown and Banner) of Chewings fescue. Most of the work of isoelectric fousing and staining is performed on fine fescues and has been very useful for identification purposes.
