| Abstract/Contents: | Studies on the use of linuron [3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1- methoxy-1-methylurea] to control Poa annua L. in Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) turf were conducted to determine the minimum effective application rates under varying environmental and soil conditions. Rates of linuron from 2.5 to 5.0 kg/ha provided satisfactory control of Poa annua in Kentucky bluegrass turf. Selective control of Poa annua with linuron was not satisfactory in bentgrass (Agrostis palustris Huds.), hard fescue (Festuca ovina var. duriuscula L. Koch) and perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) because of the low linuron tolerance of these species. |
