Abstract/Contents:Discusses a study to determine if plant growth retardants (PGRs) "would have different affects [effects] on turf grown in shade than turf in full sun." States that "observation showed that under dense shade, in plots treated with ethephon, Kentucky bluegrass plants had elongated internodes" and that "the adverse effect of ethephon under shady conditions was more evident at the location with the dense shade and was more severe where sade was densest." Results suggest "that the effect of the PGRs on turfgrass growth under shade is not necessarily the same as the effect under full sun."
