| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the need for a soil test/analysis during the spring and a spring seeding/overseeding and pesticides program. Lists estimates costs of laboratory services for the turf professional, soil test designations for levels of macro- and micronutrients in turfgrass soils. Also provides guidelines for sports turf species selection in Ohio, and estimates costs of sod for athletic field use. Also lists selective herbicides for weed control in newly seeded sports turf, and presents waiting periods for seeding/reseeding after a preemergence herbicide application. Also discusses spring seeding, site preparation, and pre-seed or starter fertilizer applications. Lists ways to encourage seed germination and establishment. Also lists components of post seeding or sodding practices. |
