Abstract/Contents:"Applications of either chelated manganese, iron or water-soluble -N- were applied either before or after applications of imazaquin (Image) herbicide to common bermudagrass turf. Initial applications of any of these fertilizer ammendments was effective in preventing turf discoloration, (applied prior to herbicide) as opposed to a curative treatment (applied after herbicide). The addition of nitrogen as a preventative amendment was not as successful as that of iron after a second and third application of all treatments was made. After three applications of the herbicide and respective amendments, plots which did not receive imazaquin had slightly better overall color than those which received imazaquin. Nitrogen applications (alone/and applied with the herbicide) enhanced iron chlorosis, regardless of application sequence. Manganese gave little beneficial response throughout the test."
