Abstract/Contents:Discusses a study conducted to evaluate the effects of soil compaction on the growth and development of fourteen Kentucky bluegrass cultivars by using a smooth power roller. States that thatch depth and shoot density were evaluated, and results indicate that upright growing common types of bluegrass had less thatch, and Ram I and Baron were the least affected by soil compaction.
