| Abstract/Contents: | "Single and repeat applications of imazaquin (Image) and primsulfuron (Beacon) were applied to 100% stands of purple nutsedge. Imazaquin was applied at 0.56 Kg ai/ha, while primsulfuran was applied at 0.1 Kg ai/ha, on July 19, 1990, followed by a duplicate sequential application on August 14, 1990. At 26 DAT, minimal control was achieved from either herbicide. At 41 and 14 DAT (from single and repeat sequential applications) the imazaquin produced 40% control from the single treatment, compared to 60% (14 DAT) for the repeat treatment. Primsulfuron had 75% control, regardless of the number of applications. By September 19, (63 and 36 DAT per application), imazaquin reached 90% control. The effects of primsulfuron were not conclusive, perhaps due to a "wash of" of the chemical by a rainstorm three hours after application on the second application date." |
