Abstract/Contents:"Sod production and the use of sod in the turfgrass industry is a relatively young enterprise compared to areas on the East Coast of the United States. There are a number of reasons why the use of sod has been a little slower coming to the Northwest." Lists advantages and disadvantages of sodded turf. Outlines the climatic influences on sod production and use, with emphasis on Kentucky bluegrass. Lists common mistakes of the sod industry in the Northwest, common errors committed by the buyer. Includes the names, locations and acerage of sod farms in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
