Abstract/Contents:Describes an economic analysis of horticulture performed in California. States that "In this study, we estimated total expenditures and sales, jobs, land area, and expenditures per unit associated with management - maintenance, installation, and,in a few cases, design - of 12 landscape types in California for 1995 or a similar 12-month period. We also estimated expenditures on contractual management of green waste associated with environmental horticulture in 1995." Also states that "policy makers can use our results to broadly assess net economic impacts of changes in land use or policies that affect management of horticultural landscapes in California and judge them in light of any associated impacts on the environment and human health."
