Abstract/Contents:Describes the characteristics of moss in general, and discusses how "two trends in the golfing industry have contributed to moss becoming a problem: the continued reduction in mowing heights and the discontinued availability of many effective mercury-based fungicides." Describes an experiment at North Carolina State University to address the problem of "an increase in moss populations since mercury-based fungicides have been banned." Results indicate that moss can be effectively managed with such treatments as Ironizer, Ironite, Ultra Dawn, and Ronstar.
