Abstract/Contents:"As the areas surrounding Missouri cities ae being developed, land that was listed as undesirable for development is now being used for industrial parks, subdivisions, and individual homes. In some development areas, soil erosion amounts have exceeded 240 tonnes per hectare. This project's focus is on reducing soil erosion/sedimentation and pesticide and nutrient runoff from construction initiation to lawn establishment. Polyacrilamides, sediment fences and straw mulch combinations will be tested and best management practices developed. University Extension will offer educational programs in cooperation with NRCS, the City of Colombia, and the Home Builders Association."
