Abstract/Contents:"Sod production of cool-season grasses requires from nine months to one year. An alternate system was investigated to reduce production time. Creeping bentgrass sod was grown using 1 cm sand placed on plastic barriers in fiber flats. Some flats were amended with paper pellets and/or an organic biostimulant. Less than three months after seeding, some treatments formed a sod piece with enough strength to be rolled up like a conventional sod strip. Significant differences were evident for quality and sod strength measurements, with the best quality and sod strength occurring when the organic biostimulant was used."
