Abstract/Contents: | Discusses techniques for monitoring irrigation, stating that "there is no substitute for getting fingers in the soil to monitor moisture content. The soil probe is a very unscientific tool and not very expensive, but frequently overlooked in the rush to embrace everything technical." Also discusses the use of weather stations to "tell us how much water was supposed to be used by the plant or lost to evapotranspiration" and the use of a hose and sprinkler. |
