Abstract/Contents: | Discusses "tired lawns" that will not respond to chemical fertilizers and the problem with trying to establish grass in areas with only subsoil. Recommends using a mixture of compost and subsoil because it adds nutrients and reconditions sandy and clay soils to better support plant life. "Compost improves the oxygen movement into the rootzone, improves water infiltration and water-holding capacity and soil drainage...compost will even suppress some plant diseases. It's applications are endless. Compost works." |
