Abstract/Contents: | Discusses Toxocara eggs in soil samples taken from a lawn adjacent to the Veterinary Clinic of Sydney University and from an exercise run in a racing greyhound kennel. "The results of this limited investigation, show first that, although Toxocara eggs are deposited initially on the surface of turf, they eventually come to be distributed throughout the top of 12 cm of the soil, mainly in the top 8 cm. Secondly and more importantly, it was found that very few of the eggs recovered were viable; only two out of 104 (<2%) containing live larvae." |
