Abstract/Contents:Discusses the importance of fertilizer application safety, stating that "contractors must take the proper safety precautions while handling and applying these products and they must follow the regulations of the Illinois Lawn Care Products Application and Notice Act governing fertilizer." Describes safety tips concerning the use of organic and synthetic fertilizers, such as wearing proper protection when applying the fertilizers and advising clients "not to come into contact with the fertilizer until it is completely dried on the lawn." Also discusses pre-notification of fertilizer application and proper posting of signs on the lawn.
