Abstract/Contents: | Attempts were made to establish forced symbiotic associations between callus and suspension cultures of centipede grass and pearl millet with Spirillum lipoferum, and to introduce the bacteria directly into protoplasts isolated from roots, leaves and suspension cultures of various cereal grass spp. The technique involves placing the bacteria directly over callus tissue cultures, or inducing bacterial uptake by the protoplasts with the aid of a sol. containing polyethylene glycol. |
