Abstract/Contents:Presents a study to evaluate the "efficacy of Bacillus licheniformis, a pool of phytohormone-producing bacteria, and organic nutrients to manage dollar spot and to encourage turf recovery following disease." Experimental turf areas were visually evaluated for percent dollar spot occurrence. Results include that "one-quarter strength applications of Daconil (0.27 oz/1000 ft2) worked well to control the disease when the bacterium Bacillus licheniformis was added to the mixture...applications of B. licheniformis by itself did tend to reduce dollar spot severity although the results were not statistically significant (p=0.005) compared to untreated turf...Sybergreen 75 treatments effectively encouraged turf recovery from dollar spot across all treatments, particularly on putting green turf. Recovery rates were dramatic and improved turf color significantly."
