Abstract/Contents:Presents a study with the objectives of determining the N rates that maintain acceptable turf quality, the period of acceptable turf color, turfgrass growth response and response and patterns over time, and comparing the performance of HJCT fertilizer treatments to other commercial slow-release N carriers. Results include that "at the N rates applied, all treatments produced unsatisfactory turf quality during the period of approximately 11 to 13 weeks after fertilizer application...overall, there were no notable differences among the fertilizers in their abilities to maintain acceptable turf color...no clear patterns of growth were observed" and that "applying HJCT 0-0-58 with the 44-0-0 resulted in slight reductions in turfgrass color and a significant increase in total clipping weight. This result was not expected because the soil on the experimental site contains K considerably in excess of turfgrass needs."
