Abstract/Contents:Presents a study with the objective of "[recording] the color and growth responses of a creeping bentgrass fairway to soybean meal, LOrganic-8, and combinations of the two with and without Fe." Results include that "soybean meal-based fertilizers produce somewhat faster green-up than Milorganite but are likely not distinguishable from Nature Safe 8-3-5. None of the fertilizers produced a pronounced surge in bentgrass growth over the first 3 weeks after fertilizer application...Soyorganic 7-1-2 and Nature Safe 8-3-5 have an advantage over other fertilizers in terms of bentgrass responses the first 3 weeks after fertilizer application" and that "over the duration of the trial...there were no differences in turfgrass color. The lower clipping weights for Soyorganic 7-1-2 and Nature Safe 8-3-5 for the first 3 weeks were manifested in lower total clipping production. Thus, when clipping production is an issue, these two fertilizers out-performed Milorganite 6-2-0, Ensoy 6-1-2, Soyorganic 7-1-2+Fe, and LOrganic-8."
