| Abstract/Contents: | Describes a study to "determine and compare the safety and efficacy" of Chipco Proxy™ and an experimental plant growth regulator applied at two different rates on "established Kentucky bluegrass maintained as fairway turf." Results include that "Proxy stimulated turf yields immediately following treatment while the experimental compounds had no effect. Within two weeks after treatment all three treatments significantly reduced clipping yields for approximately three weeks. Following growth suppression, all three treatments resulted in a stimulatory response which was quickly quelled with a second application. Within one week after the second application, all three treatments significantly reduced yields for approximately 10 days, after which yields were similar to the untreated control for the duration of the study. Both rates of the experimental compound (EXP 310309D) produced results comparable to Proxy (5 oz/1000 ft2)." Cautions that all of the treatments "resulted in a lighter green turf color," although the Proxy treatment and lower rate of EXP 310309D "did not cause unacceptable color loss." |
