Abstract/Contents: | Describes a study "to compare the ability of one application of a variety of preemergent herbicides to provide commercially acceptable crabgrass control through the growing season." Number of crabgrass plants per plot, percent crabgrass cover, turf quality, and phytotoxicity were evaluated. Results include that "no treatments caused any phytotoxicity at any time. Statistically, all herbicide formulations and rates were equally effective at suppressing crabgrass establishment. The effect of nitrogen from the treatment applications lasted approximately two months and had dissipated within three months of application." |
