| Abstract/Contents: | Describes a study "to determine the effects of two wetting agents - Root Driver A and B - and a liquid fertilizer - Nature's Key 10-1-4 (formula GS-6) - on bentgrass root growth in a sand-based putting green." Bentgrass plots were evaluated visually for quality throughout the study. Results include that "neither Root Driver A nor Root Driver B improved bentgrass root growth at fertilizer N rates of 0.25 or 0.5 lb/M/2 weeks. Similarly, neither product appeared to prevent or alleviate localized dry spot, which is why the putting green quality ratings averaged slightly more than the acceptable level of 6.0. None of the constituents in the Nature's Key 10-1-4 fertilizer appears to have any notable capacity to retard the reduction in root systems associated with an increase in fertilizer N rate." |
