Abstract/Contents:Describes the isolation of the Steinernema abbasi entomopathogenic nematode. Discusses the examinations made upon this sample, noting that "S. abbasi has not been actually isolated from a known host, but it does reproduce well in Spodoptera littoralis in the laboratory (Elawad et al., 1997). Our study indicated that S. abbasi could cause 100% mortality at a concentration of 50 IJs/larva S. litura. Therefore, this nematode might be useful as a potential control agent for insects." States that "this nematode might be useful as a potential control agent for insects."
